Terms and Conditions


These Terms and Conditions (“Booking Conditions”) govern the relationship between you (the guest) and us, Kendelo Inc dba Ramblers / English Lakeland Ramblers. When booking a trip, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. They outline, among other things, our cancellation policy and certain limitations of liability. We strongly recommend you purchase travel protection.

BOOKING CONDITIONS:   Prices include guided walks, meals per the itinerary and luggage transfers per the itinerary. Not included are laundry, beverages not included with meals, items not on the regular menus, travel or entertainment not in the itinerary, or health, accident or baggage insurance. Gratuities for hotel staff, including restaurant staff at the hotel and luggage handlers, can be left at the reception desk at the end of your stay, if their service and your experiences merit it.  For drivers, tip accordingly depending on the level of service as you would in the USA. We encourage you to tip your Ramblers' guide(s) if your experience warrants it. The standard in the industry ranges from $10 to $15 per person, per guide, per day (or $20 to $30 per couple, per guide, per day), and can be paid in USD or local currency

TOUR INSURANCE: We recommend that you protect yourself and your luggage with a short-term traveler’s insurance policy and trip cancellation insurance. This will cover your losses of non-refundable air and land costs on a trip you cancel due to personal or family illness or accident. You will receive a brief outline of the insurance policy (Travel Guard) and an option to accept the policy. Please return the form to our office promptly. Once received in our office we will issue the policy.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:  If notification is received more than 90 days prior to the start of the trip, the deposit will be refunded less a $100 per person cancellation fee. Cancellations 60 to 90 days prior to trip’s starting date will result in the loss of 25% of the trip price. Cancellations 30 to 59 days prior to trip’s departure result in the refund of 50% of the trip price. No refund is given for cancellations received within 29 days of the trip’s starting date. In the rare event English Lakeland Ramblers has to cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund; ELR is not responsible for any additional expenses that may be incurred by a guest. If payment is not made when due, ELR reserves the right to assume that the reservation is cancelled.

RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK:  I am aware that during the tour, trip or vacation I am participating in under the arrangements of Ramblers/Kendelo, Inc./English Lakeland Ramblers and its agents or associates, certain risks and dangers may arise, including but not limited to: hiking through wilderness and mountainous terrain, forces of Nature, travel by air, automobile, boat or other conveyance, possible accident or illness in remote locations without immediate evacuation or medical facilities. In consideration of, and as part payment for, the right to participate in such trips or other activities and services arranged for me by Ramblers/Kendelo, Inc./English Lakeland Ramblers and its agents or associates, I have and do hereby assume all the above risks and will hold them harmless from any and all liability, action, causes of action, debts, claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever which I now have or which may arise in connection with my trip or participation in any other activities arranged for me by Ramblers/Kendelo, Inc./English Lakeland Ramblers and its agents or associates. This agreement shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for myself and my heirs, administrators, executors, and for all members of my family including any minors accompanying me.
