WALES: PEMBROKESHIRE COAST PATH - NORTH SECTION - SELF-GUIDED WALKING TOUR

The north section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins in St Dogmael's and continues along the coastline and clifftops to the cathedral city of St Davids. The trail takes in a wealth of history, wildlife and wild scenery as it meanders through a series of pretty villages and sandy beaches.
The viewpoints of Cemaes Head, Stumble Head and St Davids Head in particular offer excellent opportunities to spot dolphins, seals and birds, coupled with amazing views across to Ireland, Cardigan Island and Ramsey Island. The geological landscaping is especially fascinating along this stretch, with plenty of interesting caves and off-shore stacks to admire along the way.
The is a moderate route with 6 days of walking. Most of the walk is straight forward with minimal sections that are technically challenging.
This itinerary lists our preferred overnight stops for this tour. Sometimes there may be a shortage of available accommodation in a preferred location, in which case we will transfer you from the trail to your accommodation and back again at no extra charge. Overnight stops marked with a (T) will always require transfers as standard.
You tour will include maps with the route marked, a guidebook or route notes describing the trail, an information pack containing an itinerary, instructions on how to find your accommodation each night and a kit list. Detailed travel instructions on how to get to the start of your holiday and back from the end of it.

Newport to Goodwick/Fishguard. 11.5 miles (18.5km)

Goodwick/Fishguard to Aber Mawr(T). 12.5 miles (20km)
Day 5
Aber Mawr(T) to Trefin. 6 miles (9.5km)
Day 6
Trefin to Porth Mawr/Whitesands Bay(T). 11 miles (18km)
Day 7
Porth Mawr/Whitesands Bay(T) to St David's. 8 miles (13km)

The nearest rail stations to the end of the trail (St David's) are either Fishguard & Goodwick (about 15.5 miles away) or Haverfordwest (about 16 miles away).
By Bus
Various bus services run to St Dogmael's and from St David's.
From London
Trains run from London Paddington station to Fishguard and Goodwick. From there a bus/taxi will be required to St Dogmael's.
Return To The Start
The easiest way to return to the start of the trail, is to take the bus from St David's to St Dogmael's.
